Port Elliott - Fish & Chip Run - Nov 20

What a top day! Plenty of sunshine and lots of friends came along for this repeat trip.

It was the day of the Jaguar/ Daimler and Fords in terms of numbers on the run, not that it mattered much as the location and the 39 members enjoyed the day for sure.

We were able to recommence out starting at Colman Terrace for a relatively short drive for morning tea/coffee at Sails at Clayton Bay. By the time I got there the staff had the orders rolling through pretty quickly and as usual with our numbers lots of tables had been taken up both inside and outside as well enjoying the view towards the river.

Another short drive via Currency Creek to Port Elliot via Airport Road was over in no time. There were so many people who had the same idea as us who were pretty good Covid 19 wise but the staff at The Flying Fish must have known as they certainly had pulled out all the stops and this meant our wait for our orders were surprisingly fast. Once we had our fish packs we drove to the otherside of the bowling club where all the park spaces were full and the overflow were headed up to the top of the hill, no matter, this way one got a look at the whole area before we grabbed out chairs and joined all the other members for our lunch.

I was quite impressed with the packaging of our meals, The Flying Fish obviously were very conscious about the plastics as no plastic bags or packaging was used, even the knife & Fork were wooden!

Most of the group did buy Fish & Chips as we looked at the wonderful view out to sea. What a pleasant sight! I suppose we left around 1.00 ish after a lovely day out with friends.

Our next event is the mid-weekrun to Yankalilla on 18th November before the Christmas lunch at Middleton. Our final event for 2020 will be a Coffee & Chrome up in the High Street in the car park area of the Gilberts Motor Museum, so that’s it folks as they say!

Those on the event today were: Lesley & Rex Jeansch; Bob & Elaine Sellar; Roy Shelton & Carmel Chell; John & Jenny Howard; Steve & Irene Roberts; Stan & Heather Quick; Barry Westley & family; Steve & Vyrona Parker; Kate, Ian & Jason; Doug & Viviene Hill; Glyn & Chris Morris; Colin & Tricia Goodall; Barry & Josie Marr; John Owen; Roy Smith; Gilbert & Heather Haywood; Joe & Heather Geue; Ed & Marg Kowalewski; David Martin; Ian & Marylyn Bell and myself.
