Antique Fair - Aug 22

REPORT – ANTIQUE FAIR DISPLAY DAY – SUNDAY AUGUST 21, 2022

I don’t know why but the weatherman was spot on the money for our car show at the oval

perimeter and it stayed that way all day! The owners of the vehicles are a dedicated group as the cars were nearly all parked close to the stalls of the traders on the Eastern side of the oval perimeter and had to be there by 08.00 am which is something of a big ask getting up around 06.00 am to be there on time. Plus, we had a number of very well prepared cars and a motor bike showcasing our SACC presence, in fact we had a total of 22 cars covering a good many years with examples a number of would remember of their families having in their own or a relatives garage/shed in days gone past.

Lets see what you think of the following?

AUSTIN A 40 – Colin Goodrich; DAIMLER DROP HEAD SALOON – Roy Shelton & Carmel Chell, MERCEDES BENS 350 CL- Barry Martin , FORD FALCON – Steve & Wyrona Parker, LOTUS EUROPA – Jim & Elspeth Dover, FORD MUSTANG – Gary Rigby – CHRYSLER VALAINT CL SALOON – Rod & Jill Schultz, DATSUN 1600 – Chris Moustrides, HOLDEN HJ V8 – Peter Casley, HOLDEN HD SALOON – Roy Beatie, HOLDEN HJ STATESMAN – Martin Kennedy, HOLDEN HQ PRINCESS – Kate Knight, HOLDEN HQ - Rory Liebelt, FORD VICTORIA (0LDEST BY FAR) – Gilbert Haywood, MAZDA Eric Kreig, CADILLAC SALOON – Mick Morros, MORRIS MINI 850 – Keith Green, BUICK SALOON – Ian Henschke, FORD MUSTANG – David Carlyle ( Member of Mt Gambier Car Club) – MGC ROADSTER – Mike Greenwood & Jenny Way, HARLEY DAVIDSON MOTOR BIKE – John Smith.

As part of our involvement in being a part of the Antique Fair, which our Club has being a willing partner for many years, at mid-day all the cars headed out of the oval and did a lap of the town and included a slow drive down High Street and past Ben Finniss’s Collectable Classics and then some decided that they would return to the oval and some headed on their way back home after a great day showcasing the variety of machines held by some of the members.
